Video 1: creating audio tracks digitally over the top of existing tracks
In this clip I am creating backing music and In the video I explain that I do this by selecting a built in keyboard that uses my keyboard and playing out different notes. I record it listening to the vocal tracks to make sure that timing but into a different track and then repeated the process with a the plug in feature that allows me to recreate different instruments.
Video 2: creating recorded audio tracks over the top of existing tracks and ordering them
This clip is of me creating wind sound effects. First, I created a new track to record onto and then I found the part of the story telling track that needed a wind sound effects and I pressed record from that point and I then blew into the Mic to create a wind sound effects over the top and pressed stop when I no longer needed wind sound effects
here are some pictures of of me doing the same process with recording eggs cooking for rain and recording cups and shoes as horse hooves and footsteps
Raw narration Audio recording
To record this I set up the sound studio. I did this by opening up Logic pro onto the sound edition computer and ensuring that Mics 1 and 2 were both connected to the lap top and then set my actors up in sound booths ready to record and pressed record when they started talking.
P6: Carry out post-production edits to the sound elements
Edit
video 1: placing and ordering tracks
In this clip I am organising clips . I am doing this because I recorded my sound effects on to one track so now I am creating new tracks and putting different sounds in different tracks and labelling them appropriately so that editing will be easier.
Video 2: trimming and placing audio tracks in a sequence
Bouncing the Track
To export all the tracks into one audio file I bounce the track. To bounce the track I go to file -bounce- project or section.
The I am lead to the bounce menu. I selected 16 bit because that would probably be better for the client because although 24 bit is higher sound quality it takes up more space and takes longer to download and for an audio book download speed and the storage space it takes up is important to the customer. Also 16 bit doesn't sound too dissimilar to the 24 bit to the untrained ear and is a better quality than the 12 bit.
