uestion Answers 1)I have chosen to include this content because I have noticed that a vast majority of the people who visit Cambridge are over the age of 20 and I believe that a good way of targeting the younger age group is to do a documentary that changes the stereotypes and preconceptions of Cambridge by the younger generation of it being boring and show them what Cambridge has to offer to them to encourage them to go to Cambridge. 2) They would be best to market the product along side university promotions as it would help promote the university by showing off the perks of Cambridge to the younger generation. It would also be best marketed on social media such as Twitter and Facebook as the are popular websites and videos can be shared, especially by my target audience. 3) As the program is targeted at youths living in the UK, it would be primarily distributed through social media and youtube, as these are the most commonly used means communication within this age group and it would be able to be shared and re posted , so it could reach a larger target audience . Also, it will be shown in Secondary and 6th form school in and around Cambridge as it is short and could easily be shown in an assembly and shown in university Assemblies and help advertise Cambridge university.
Explain two ways you product could be marketed to audiences in the digital age. Use examples from your product.
One way in which I will market my product in the digital age is through Social media. For example, Sharing teaser trailers of my documentary on websites such as Facebook. This would be an effective way in which to market my product because my documentary because my documentary is is designed to target an audience between the ages of 15-23 and for people of this age social media is on of the main ways of socialising and one of the main ways of how they spend their time, so the more ways I can use social media to promote the documentary the more of my target audience I shall reach. For instance, I shall utilize the synergy and connections I will have made with Cambridge University and Cambridge airline and send them teaser trailers to post on their social media sites such as twitter, Facebook and other form social media they have to boost the audience reach of the documentary in particular this would help promote the documentary to students international considering international study as social media is popular all over the globe again with this age group. Another way in which I will market my product in the digital age is to create a website for the documentary called ” The Real Cambridge “. This would help market my product as it means that I could put up teaser trailers , written information, Bios and facts about Cambridge and the documentary and this would be useful because in todays day and age people tend to pay more attention in things that they can get more invested in, especially in this generation when we can easily become invested with all the information we can access via the internet, and the more invested people are in the documentary the more likely to share links to it and talk about it with their friends in person and social media. Also by creating a website it means that the film will have a definite and reliable result for it when typed into a search engine such as bing or google. This is important because with a majority of the age group that I am targeting there first action/reaction on hearing or seeing something new like a teaser trailer or post online would be to research it by typing it into google or other search engines and by making a website I am able to positively promote the documentary when it is searched.
Identify 3 channels of distribution for your product that may be considered successful in the digital age in terms of your product reaching it’s audience. Justify your answers.
The first way I intend to market my product in the digital age is through utalising websites that I have either made for the documentary or websites such as Cambridge airline or Cambridge University. Giving them permission to either provide links to the the official ” The Real Cambridge” Documentary website or pay a small fee to display the entire documentary on their websites. I would do this because these websites are probably going to be the websites that will generate the most interest for the documentary with the prospect of university students coming into Cambridge from other places. The Second way I would intend to market my product in the digital age would be to approach internet streaming services, such as BBC iplayer, netflix, amazon prime, ect. To get them add the documentary to their film list as their is a gap in their film collections for documentaries about Cambridge and also one of the main ways documentaries are viewed are through sites such as netfilx and the popularity of some documentaries has increased dramatically since their placement on services such as netflix, such as the Documentary blackfish . Also the generation that I am targeting make up a large majority of the audience of services such as netfilx so it would make sense to publish the documentary on these services to increase its popularity amongst such websites. Another way in which I would distribute the Documentary digitally would be to make it available for online downloads on places such as iTunes and the Google store. This would mean that my documentary would be available, once downloaded, to watch on the go anywhere, without internet, This would be particularly useful for my target audience as quite a lot of them might be traveling and you don’t always have internet connection whilst traveling which would mean , that the documentary would be a good time filler to keep them occupied and it would mean that they could watch it on any device whilst travelling and it would be convenient for them.

Consideration of mise-en-scene Costume: For costume I am going to get my actors to wear casual clothes, clothes that they would wear everyday. I want my actors to look like students or tourists that are enjoying Cambridge. I also want some of my actors to look like the locals in Cambridge, so I may need to have them wear clothes that people in Cambridge normally wear. Lighting: I am going to be using 3point lighting in the studio to light both green screen and subject. For all the outdoor shots I will be using natural lighting but I will be altering this in post prduction to make it appear happier and brighter and make Cambridge seem like a cheerful place to visit via the pathetic fallacy of sun light and weather. Presenter : my presenter will be dressed in a very casual attire. As I want the video to seem relatable and natural as it is a documentary about Cambridge so it has to seem real and believable. Props: For my props I will need slips of paper with facts about Cambridge written on them so that the presenter can read them for the first time in front of camera and react to them. settings: The video will be set around different parts of Cambridge, that correspond with the facts on the slips on the paper I give the presenter. For example, I will be shooting in parkers peace and at the leisure park/ Location: The location will be in Cambridge because that is the area I am promoting
