The Genre of my video/product is a promotional video The Mise en scene of my product is made up from the weather, cast, and streets of Cambridge to create a fairly happy and vibrant atmosphere. For example, I made sure to film on a sunny day as this made my video appear brighter and lighter, also sunlight has connotations with summer and evokes feelings of happiness and joy and this would translate into the video and give it a more positive vibe. Also I used a young and lively cast member to present the video as it makes the video more relatable for the audience but also more lively and energetic as he was smiling and making jokes in parts of the film. Another instance of Mise en scene in the video was the settings and locations that I used being quite modern and bright settings, which fed into the whole idea of Cambridge still being modern and this video taking a fresh new look at cambridge and gave it a bright and relatable feel for the target audience. The Camera Work used in my product I will be utalising a lot of establishing shots and panning shots because these kind of shots quickly allow the audience to gather a clear idea of the setting and gives them a good platform to make a decent or impressed first impression of the location i am showing them. For the interview sections of the video I tend to use more mid shots. I use these mainly because it put the focus on the person being interviewed but it also allows some of the surroundings to be seen, therefor both audibly (through the interview audio) and visually ( in the background) promoting Cambridge. Since they are a frequent presence in the video they often drive the narrative forward and give a sense of structure to the video. I also use a variety of other shots less frequently such as over the shoulder shots and close ups. I use these because they vary the cinematography and keep the camera work more interesting and also allow me to home in on certain features that should be specifically mentioned of seen in the piece to highlight the very best of Cambridge. Editing in the video. The editing style will be fairly smooth as it will have to help guide the storyline a long and use different transitions like a flash or crossfade to move smoothly between shots but also Using colour correcting tools to brighten up the shots and increasing the saturation slightly to make it look more defined and colourful just so it feeds into the whole vibrant and happy atmosphere. Sound- the voice overs from the interviews are fairly clear and are easy to edit to get rid of some of the background noise and make it more clearly and then I also can use copyright free music or creative commons music and this can be useful as it can really uplift the video and can direct the mood of the video if used correctly in the background and I believe the music I have found has a positive but not overpowering sound and add to the whole video experience rather then distracting and keeps it interesting which is really important for a promo video as people need to stay engaged and entertained.
