Running Time For now, I estimate that my production will be 3 mins , as it is a music video and has to last the duration of the song. Synopsis My segment is from a song called Remember me. The concept for the video is that a character called Ezra's, girlfriend is dead and he sees her ghost. He follows the ghost and the audience begins to find out their back story of why she died and the story of their relationship. All leading up to this final scene in which is set on a cliff and the audience finds out the girl committed suicide, as the ghost walks of the cliff, and then Ezra follows the ghost and walks off the cliff out of guilt and loneliness.
Target audience The target audience will be female teenagers aged between 15-25, probably fans of alternative indie music. . The film is more directed at a niche audience as it is a dark themed music video and the music is by independent artist with their own niche audiences. The class will be middle/ lower middle class, so they can afford to watch the video on the internet but also the video is free to watch and the music is free to download online . The hobbies of the target audience will probably be watching a lot of darker themed movies and independent movies , also listening to independent alternative music.
Imaginary Entity – Gender: Female Age: 20 Race/Nationality: White-British Job Type: StudentClass: Middle Class Potential Hobbies/Interests: listening to music, making music, watching indie movies
Why the product would appeal to them – The music video would appeal to them because it demonstrates a story behind the music and the music is quite indie and alternative and the special effects are quite modern to appeal to the younger generation. What are music video audiences into right now? At the moment music videos that are getting good reviews and ratings are visually interesting ones that tell a story, Such as the Beyoncé Lemonade album and Hello by Adele and Don't Wanna Know by Maroon 5.
Planning my visual and special effects: Visual Effects I plan to use a chroma key effect to edit a background of cliffs into my scene . This will be difficult because I’ll have to try to make it effective and somewhat realistic. I will be applying filters to make the scene look more like night time . I will also be making the girl in the video look translucent and applying effects on her to make her appear like a ghosts. On top of this i will also be applying some fog over the top of my scene. Also i will be applying wash lighting and a glow effect on the flashback scenes to indicate that they are in the past. Also i will be changing colour to a green screen petal props and digitally adding multiple petals to different scenes and making them fade out of the scene at different times.
Special Effects- My special effect will be that I will apply pale make up to the girl character, when she is dressed as a ghost, this will be a subtle effect that will add to the scene but not be too obvious to the audience.

Story Board
RECCE
Recce Gallery My first chosen film location for the this scene is Dunwich cliffs for the back drop on the green screen. I have chosen this location because the shapes of the cliffs will create the right mood and atmosphere for the film. Also the I am familia with the location and the cliffs are safe enough to film on providing you don’t go too close to the edge.
My second film location for this scene is The Netherhall School and 6th Form Studio. I chose this location because it has a working green screen, I am familia with the studio and is free to use and is easily available.
Foxton Anglican Church is my next Filming location. I chose this location because it has a nice small community feel to it and it also looks traditional and is recognisable , so will establish the scene without need for explanation.
My 4/5 location is at the 50 station road residence in a bedroom and filming the outside of the house . I chose these locations as they were easy to get permission and i think they give the film the sense of ordinary and realism due to this that the film needs to create a close connection with the audience
Budget considerations
Budget Plan Actors : No cost as I am using local drama students to do the acting. However , If i wasn’t using these actors I would use an online casting call for teens aged 16-19 and/or look on and approach different local drama groups and I wouldn’t hire people that charge for their acting but I would offer them a reference and final copy of the end product for their portfolios. My actors are also doing their own hair and wardrobe. I also have my own already stocked supply of stage make up. However, if they weren’t these things would probably cost around £ 60 . The cloths would be bought from a charity shop to lower expense and would have a maximum budget of £ 40. And i would only need a base coat of light foundation and highlighter which would cost around £20. Editing Software like Final Cut Pro, lighting equipment, sound equipment and recording software however these are all free to use in the media studio at Netherhall but if I didn’t have that expense would probably come to around £300. And then to hire out a green screen in a Cambridge studio would cost around £ 120 for 2 hours. On the day my filming only took around 1 hour, So that would leave time for reshooting if needed. As far as lighting and equipment is concerned the studio hire comes with basic lighting and as my sequence is fairly basic i wouldn’t need anymore and as far as sound equipment goes the footage is going to be muted so isn’t needing high quality sound and I also happen to have my own camera at home so wouldn’t need hire a camera. The other locations I used for my film were also free (The graveyard and at my house) as long as i had permission, which I have gained. The petals I will use for my effects will cost around 98p from amazon. And all other props will be homemade or I already own, such as the Ipod, photographs , leaflets and necklace. In conclusion, My film is at the moment a low 98p expense film. However, if I did not have the luxury of the facilities Netherhall and my actors provide it would probably cost in total £461.
Risk assesment
How will I work in a safe environment? What needs to be in place to make it so? I will work in a safe environment by being cautious about my surroundings. This will mean making sure That no objects are obstructing my work environment or getting in the path of both actors and crew. I will also make sure not to put myself or any of the equipment, actors or crew in harms way . I am shooting in the light and changing my footage in editing to minimise the risk of darkness obstructing/ causing hazards.
Permission To film
I also Phoned up the people from National trust Dunwich and received conformation that it was okay as long as i didn’t go too close to the edge because of overhangs.
Verbal permission also granted(Screen shot Taken 22 November and filming Shot 25 and 26 of November) 3rd Filming location Foxton Parrish church (permission granted Verbally)
4th Filming location The next filming location was at My household in Foxton, So I asked permission from the Homeowner. I also asked for permission for the car numberplate to be shown and verbal permission was granted.
Legalisation
It has come to my attention that there is a lot of legal issues when regards . One example is the Children (Performance) Regulations 1968. Because I am using two actors 8 under the age of 18 for the music video I can only have them away from school a maximum of 7 days to film. After 7 days they must go back to school, or have tutors on site so the actors can be taught after and during filming and call times. However, because I only plan to film on weekends and after school times, I do not believe that I am not breaking this act because they would still get all their hours schooling and also the filming isn't scheduled to take up to 7 days for the entire production and that meets the Children Regulations Act.
Working within the scope of the risk assessment and health and safety guidelines
Permission: I have Collated permission from the location owners and received the guidelines for what I am allowed to do both out of respect and safety perspective on site shoots, making my film more feasible in terms of safety and being allowed to use the locations. Skills Set: The skills my team would need would be punctuality, efficiently and technical ability. I have sat with my crew and discussed the feasibility of the shots and standard of work I require during the shoot and weather this will be achievable considering the timescale, experience and skill level we have as students. This makes sure that we will be working within our boundaries and to the best of our abilities. Also I have discussed the emotional intensity and acting capabilities I require form the actors and actresses and assessed their skill level and feel confident that they are both more then capable to produce a confident performance. I think this Finanaces : I wasn't required to pay an amount to film on location, the make up was already owned, the actors and crew don't require payment and the props required are minimal cost, so the actual cost is very feasible and realistic Time needed to gain permission: I emailed the owner of the location if I could film on their location and they responded within a week later. Meaning I can film within a quick and achievable and pre-planned schedule. Regulatory guidelines : I have made myself and I will make my cast and crew aware of the general health an safety guidelines such as: Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 . I will also get my cast and crew to briefly explain the premises of these before shoot just to make sure they truly understand them.

You must evaluate the feasibility of the visual and special effects referencing the following things - this must be done BEFORE you make your production. Discuss the feasibility in terms of: Risk Assessment (e.g. material planned to be used for a special effect, production of and use of the special effect) Identify potential hazards /risks and find resolutions - you should research risk assessments and produce one, take into consideration (i) The skills the production team would need- (ii) Resources available to implement the solutions to your hazards (iii) The actual costs and feasibility of your solutions (iv) How the risks and solutions apply to the production of the piece Permission to Film Permission to use effects on location Legislation covering use of materials Working within the scope of the risk assessment and health and safety guidelines - for these four points you should discuss: (i) Permissions required to film and use effects on location or in studio (ii) The skills the production team would need to gain these permissions (iii) The process the team have gone through to gain permissions (iv) The financial cost of permission and the time needed to gain permission (v) The regulations governing control of substances, hazardous substances and health even if not using these. (vi) How the producer intends to work within the scope of the risk assessment and what procedures they will follow to make sure cast and crew are safe.
